PRNC commends the safety performance of Newrest

On 29 April 2025, Newrest New Caledonia reached a major milestone by celebrating 2 million hours worked without a Lost-Time Injury (LTI). This collective achievement is the result of a strong and ongoing commitment to safety and risk prevention.

A Strategic Turning Point Since 2020

A PRNC contractor for the past 10 years, Newrest launched its "I Care" strategy in 2020, marking a significant shift in its corporate culture and approach to safety. In just three years (2023–2025), the company reached this symbolic milestone, involving nearly 200 employees working across a wide range of services—including catering, accommodation and laundry—as well as its on-site partners.

For Cédric Hervé (PRNC), this achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished through sustained commitment:

Newrest has introduced practical initiatives, such as warm-up and stretching sessions for housekeeping staff, as well as a recognition programme that rewards the most committed teams.
